Case Study

Majid Al Futtaim Properties defines its sustainability strategy and implementation plan with support of JLL

Majid Al Futtaim Properties is the largest developer and operator of shopping malls in the Middle East and North Africa, owner of seven hotels and developer of mixed-use communities around shopping malls. In early 2010, Majid Al Futtaim Properties decided to bring together all of its existing community and environmental initiatives in to a clear sustainability strategy aligned to the business strategy. In order to do this, a multi-disciplinary team from Jones Lang LaSalle, including Upstream Sustainability Services and Dubai-based management consultants, undertook a strategic review for Majid Al Futtaim Properties.  This included a gap analysis, peer benchmarking and extensive consutation with senior management representatives. Based on this review, Jones Lang LaSalle developed a sustainability framework for Majid Al Futtaim Properties which has been formally approved by the Board. JLL is now providing further support to Majid Al Futtaim Properties to help implement the sustainability strategy across the company in 2010.
