Case Study

First pre-let at Greenwich Peninsula to TfL (UK)

Jones Lang LaSalle was challenged to identify a pre-let for the first phase of development at Peninsula Central, Greenwich Peninsula, a brand new business district for London, with 3.5m sq ft of new office space.

Interest in Peninsula Central had been stimulated by the development of The 02 arena and by the establishment of the Jubilee Line Extension station at North Greenwich. Transport for London could see the possibilities of the area and the Pensinsula Central scheme in particular and over the course of a number of detailed presentations by us, were convinced of just how viable this site could be for them as a pre-let.

Transport for London agreed to take 135,000 sq ft with a further tenant option to take 60,000 sq ft. The 20 year lease was signed at the end of 2007 and there is now a further 115,000 sq ft under construction speculatively due for completion at the end of 2009.
