London, 16th November 2010 - Jones Lang LaSalle has today confirmed two changes within its EMEA and Global Research teams. Paul Guest, currently Head of EMEA Research at Jones Lang LaSalle, is moving to Singapore to take on the role of Global Capital Markets Research Director.  Grant Fitzner is joining Jones Lang LaSalle from January 2011 to replace Paul as Head of EMEA Research. He joins from the Department for Communities and Local Government in the UK, where he is Chief Analyst and Chief Economist.
Grant Fitzner has over 20 years previous experience in economics, financial markets and strategic analysis in both the public and private sectors, including senior positions at HSBC, the UK government's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Australian government.  Grant will also join the Global Research Executive, which provides strategic direction and policy for the firm's researchers worldwide, to represent EMEA.
Commenting on the appointments, Christian Ulbrich, EMEA CEO, Jones Lang LaSalle said: “Jones Lang LaSalle has an excellent reputation for research globally. We intend to continue to grow our capability and reputation and be the number one global provider of real estate intelligence and research. Paul's move strengthens our global capital markets offering; combined with the depth and breadth of experience Grant will bring to the EMEA region this places us in an excellent position going into 2011.”
In his new role, which has been positioned at the centre of the rapidly-expanding Asia Pacific region, Paul Guest will work closely with the Global Capital Markets Board, the International Capital Group and the regional capital markets businesses, as well as the global Hotels business, to drive the Global Capital Markets research agenda for the firm. He will also continue as a member of the Global Research Executive.  Paul joined Jones Lang LaSalle in London in 2007, and has a background in economic and financial analysis across a range of asset classes, having previously been Chief European Economist for Moody's Investors Services.
Arthur de Haast, Head of the International Capital Group at Jones Lang LaSalle said: “Paul is an outstanding economist and research professional and he will bring a huge amount of expertise and drive to this new role.  Jones Lang LaSalle has an unrivalled global capital markets network and Paul will focus on ensuring we remain connected both as teams and with our clients, as well as leveraging our research outputs to benefit our clients globally.”
Both Paul and Grant will begin their new roles in January 2011.
