New Chief Operating Officer for Jones Lang LaSalle’s ESS Team

Jont Cole joins firm’s Energy and Sustainability Team

London, 22 November 2010 - Jont Cole has joined Jones Lang LaSalle’s Energy and Sustainability Services (ESS) team as Chief Operating Officer.  He is responsible for managing efficiency and productivity across a team of 40 staff and will oversee the operational delivery of the team’s sustainability strategies and environmental management solutions for commercial property investors and corporate clients, both in the UK and Continental Europe.
Commenting on the appointment, Julie Hirigoyen, Head of Jones Lang LaSalle’s ESS team, said: “: “This is a key appointment for us.  Jont is ideally suited to the challenge of taking our business to the next level, and his previous experience strongly complements Jones Lang LaSalle’s existing Energy and Sustainability capability. I am looking forward to working closely with Jont to ensure that our business meets its unique growth potential in coming years.”
For the past decade, Jont has directed the operations of a number of businesses all delivering strategic sustainability solutions and facilities management services. He has extensive business development experience and has programme managed the delivery of a range of board level strategic sustainability consultancy commissions to major corporate clients including AkzoNobel, Arqiva and Sir Robert McAlpine. Jont has also directed his own business, A Greener Place, where he secured financing, created a b2c brand and a customer base including Generation Investment LLP and Savills. At the University of Bristol, Jont managed a team of 650 staff and was responsible for servicing 400,000m2 of space. He created a six strong, in-house sustainability team, and steered the university to becoming sustainability exemplar within the sector.
Previously, Jont was also a Director at Inbuilt, part of the RES Group, where he was responsible for business development and operational management of the consultancy. Prior to joining Inbuilt, Jont was the Chief Operating Officer of A Greener Place, a growing business specialising in providing practical energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in the domestic and commercial sector. He was also the Facilities Director at the University of Bristol, responsible for a P&L of £12 million.
