·      INVESTMENT LAB: TURKEY - TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

Emerging markets are leading the economic recovery. One example is Turkey, which has averaged 4.3 percent annual average real GDP growth over the last 7 years, and is expected to be the fastest-growing OECD economy between now and 2017. As a result, the country has become a hot spot for corporate investors, with retail real estate their primary sector of choice.
 
Kivanç ERMAN (Director Capital Market & Advisory, JonesLang Lasalle Turkey) will be participating in this session which will explore what is next for foreign investors in Turkey.
 
·      HOTEL INVESTMENTS - RISKS AND REWARDS

Yves Marchal, (Managing Director for Southern Europe, Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, France) will be moderating this session where speakers and panellists will discuss the current challenges facing the hotel industry whilst exploring investment opportunities in the future. The discussion will tackle the most topical and up-to-date issues affecting current investments, and will provide an opportunity to understand the current and future risks and rewards of hotel investments.

Fabrice Leger (Director, Jones Lang LaSalle Valuations team, France) spoke about the opportunities healthcare real estate presents for investors. Questions discussed included: why diversify into healthcare real estate? What are the investment opportunities, rewards & risks? What is the market liquidity? What are the debt standards? What types of returns are achievable?
 
·      CAPITAL REQUIREMENTS: UNDERSTANDING WHAT SOVEREIGN WEALTH FUNDS ARE LOOKING FORWHEN INVESTING IN PROPERTY
 
Fadi Moussalli (Director - International Capital Group, Jones Lang LaSalle UAE) joined this panel looking at sovereign wealth investors and how they are an increasingly important source of capital for European real estate. This session brought together key market players who have worked extensively with sovereign wealth investors, to make clear where - and with whom – their capital will be placed from now on. It addressed risk and return outcomes, particularly the Shariah agenda, which is key for a number of the most wealthy potential investors in Europe.
 
·      DUTCH CITIES REVEAL WINNING FORMULA
 
Organised by PropertyEU and City Leaders, a joint initiative with MIPIM organiser Reed Midem, keynote speaker Rosemary Feenan, (Director of Global Research Programmes at Jones Lang LaSalle) touched on the distinguishing role cities can play in setting themselves apart from the competition and their ability to forge new alliances between providers of private equity and debt. She highlighted the role sustainability and technology have to play as drivers of growth. Feenan concluded her speech by examining the investment strategy pursued by major Dutch cities in recent years.
