Jones Lang LaSalle’s Bonwell takes on ICSC Europe Retail Asset Management Role


Robert Bonwell, CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Retail at Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed Chair of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) European Retail Asset Management Committee. His appointment will be effective from the ICSC European Conference in Stockholm, which takes place from 17-18 April 2013.

Robert takes over from Martyn Chase of Stanhope plc. ICSC Europe Managing Director Mike Morrissey, said: “We are delighted that such an acknowledged industry expert is taking over from Martyn, especially as effective asset management continues to grow as an essential element in the life of a shopping centre.   We thank Martyn for his work in establishing the Committee so successfully and his strong leadership and vision over several years. He hands over a substantial body of work on which Robert intends to build.”

Robert Bonwell said: “I am delighted to chair this Committee, particularly at such a critical time for the retail real estate industry where strong asset management is the most efficient way to future proof a shopping centre’s success and profitability. I am also looking forward to working with other ICSC European groups, including the European Research, Retailer, Leasing and the Next Generation.  These are all made up of shopping centre industry professionals and through working together we can best share issues and ideas for the benefit of the wider industry.”
