Hilton Vienna Danube Hotel Sold

Jones Lang LaSalle act as an advisor in the € 48.4 million sale of the Hilton Vienna Danube

​IMMOFINANZ Group has announced the sale of the iconic Hilton Vienna Danube hotel in Vienna to a subsidiary of Internos Real Investors Kapitalanlagegesellschaft, Frankfurt am Main for above the book value at € 48.4 million (euros). Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels & Hospitality Group acted as an advisor.

The four-star Hilton Vienna Danube, located directly on the River Danube, first opened its doors in 1986 as a Scandic Hotel. The hotel has been a Hilton hotel since 2003 and has 367 rooms; including 24 suites and a newly built conference area. The building was completely renovated 2010 and 2011. The lease with the Hilton group was additionally extended in 2011 for 20 years.

This is the second time Jones Lang LaSalle has been involved in the sale of the Hilton Vienna Danube - in 2000 the team sold the hotel on behalf of Skanska to Immofinanz.

The Hilton Vienna Danube is yet another hotel in the Austrian capital to experience a change of ownership of late. Jones Lang LaSalle also advised the sale of the Austria Hotels International Portfolio – which included six hotels in Vienna, at the end of last year.

Ursula Kriegl, Head of Jones Lang LaSalle's Hotels & Hospitality Group, Germany says: "The high number of lucrative transactions are a clear indication of the attractiveness of Vienna for investment."
