JLL enhances its Italian retail team with the appointment of Monica Cannalire

JLL has appointed Monica Cannalire as its new Head of Retail Leasing for JLL Italy

MILAN, 09 December 2014 - JLL has appointed Monica Cannalire as its new Head of Retail Leasing for JLL Italy in a move that signals the company’s commitment to growth in the country. Cannalire joins JLL from Inter IKEA where she was Head of Leasing for Italy & Switzerland.

Cannalire has advised on some of the world’s leading brands and retail developments during her 15-year career in retail real estate, working across multiple geographies for companies such as Ségécé, Sonae Sierra and Multi Development. In her new role, Cannalire will work with JLL’s out-of-town team and Simone Burasanis (Head of Retail Agency) to provide market-leading advisory services for the development, promotion, strategic repositioning and leasing of retail assets.

As part of JLL’s commitment to growth in its tenant representation services, Cannalire also brings to the company a wealth of experience in this field, especially in respect to the high streets of major Italian cities.

"In our recent Destination Europe 2015 report we ranked Milan and Rome as the 4th and 6th most attractive cities for international retailers. There are some great opportunities for future development in these cities alone, and Monica’s experience in the field and deep knowledge of the market will contribute to the growth of our retail business in Italy.” Said James Dolphin, International Director, Retail Agency JLL EMEA.

“Monica’s appointment is further testimony to the company's desire to invest in the retail sector globally and in EMEA. She will help to strengthen the retail intelligence that distinguishes us from our competition, helping clients to navigate the profound changes and trends that are redefining the retail landscape.” Adds Dolphin.

Cannalire is also a member of the Board for the Italian Council of Shopping Centres (CNCC), a national industry association that is affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). She is also on the committee for the CNCC/ICSC Best Retailers Award.
