Vodafone selects Jones Lang LaSalle as preferred supplier

London, 14th April, 2010 — Vodafone has awarded Jones Lang LaSalle preferred supplier status in 4 key countries in Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to help improve operational efficiencies through the consolidation of the number of property agents it deals with internationally.

Following a competitive tender process, Jones Lang LaSalle will provide real estate services in Germany, Turkey, Portugal and Spain.  The appointment is part of a wider initiative by Vodafone Group Property to rationalise real estate service delivery to its portfolio of more than 3,000 properties, including network centres, offices, call centres and retail outlets as well as administration of real estate management in some markets.

In addition to improved operational efficiencies, Vodafone will be able to gain greater economies of scale and reduce estate management costs through awarding contracts on a multiple country basis.  The move will also improve data management, analysis, and reporting of global property costs.

Commenting on the announcement, Billy Davidson, Group Property Director of Vodafone Group Plc., said: “Vodafone is the world’s leading mobile communications group and has a diverse set of properties in many different geographical regions. Having selected agents with suitable international coverage, we opted to negotiate at a country level with the agents’ local offices to ensure best prices and service models appropriate to each home market.  Global discounts to these prices were then negotiated with the corporate offices by Vodafone at a Group level, which is in line with our global reach with local roots philosophy.”

Vincent Lottefier, CEO EMEA Corporate Solutions at Jones Lang LaSalle, added: “This appointment underpins our core business strategies.  We are delighted to expand our relationship with Vodafone to 3 new geographies in EMEA and very much look forward to working with Vodafone to realise its real estate objectives internationally.”
