Bio

How long have you been in retail?
18 years at Jones Lang LaSalle

What changes have you experienced in this time?
A lot! Retail concepts changed: Professionalisation of the industry, the big depression (after new economy bubble burst and after credit crunch), big booms like in capital markets in 2007.

What is the most exciting thing about working in retail at the moment?
Retail is still a vibrant industry to work in.

How do you think consumer demands/expectations are changing?
It will be hard to turn customers from the current "saving mode" related to the depression into "positive spending mode" in the next uplift...

What’s the most important issue facing retail over the next 10 years?
Dramatically increasing customer "intelligence" forced by internet platforms (such sales platforms, easy access to information like price comparison etc).
